This complete manual for professional genealogists is a “must have” for any serious genealogical researcher. Each chapter contains sections written by 23 professional genealogists, is a different aspect of the use of skills to produce quality work. Topics include all aspects of genealogy work, legality and ethics, education, research, reporting, research and publication. Although the manual is intended for professional genealogists, I recommend to all fans. Certain aspects are obviously more useful for practitioners, such as “career management”, but most of the subjects just belong to a quality work, and would benefit the serious amateur. With 654 pages, covers the same amount of material “lighter” books. It would be hard to imagine a question that is not covered by this manual, which is destined to become the standard in this field.
