Most information can be found around the city of York itself. This article will discuss the physical locations for research, not online resources. Like most Pennsylvania counties there is an overwhelming amount of material in any place or at the county or local libraries. Read material once more of the following resources have been exhausted, the research can be done in the Library and Pennsylvania State Archives Pennsylvania, located in Harrisburg, not far from New York.
Here are the resources of York County and what they contain. The resources listed Market Street and George Street are close by, within walking distance of each other. The first four are the most valuable sources for genealogists seeking records York.
